Lake Brownwood State Park Details
This park has tons of land and water activities for you to participate in during your visit. Whether you're racing jet skis in the middle of the lake, playing volleyball in the middle of a grassy field, or cycling along the scenic Nopales Ridge Trail, you'll have plenty of fun and exciting things to keep you occupied. Construction of the park was ordered by the Texas State Parks Board in 1933, and the Civilian Conservation Corps immediately went to work on building cabins, benches, fire pits, picnic tables, and recreational halls. The park was also temporarily used as a rest site for soldiers during WWII. There's a lot of history in this park to explore, especially along the trails and in the main lodge. After seeing those sites, you can hit the lake for an afternoon of fishing, swimming, boating, or paddling.
