Colorado Bend State Park Details
Featuring over six miles of Colorado River frontage, this park is a unique wildness that is only two hours from Austin. Opened in 1987, Colorado Bend covers over 5,328-acres. Visitors can enjoy fishing or paddling on the river, cooling off at Spicewood Springs, exploring the Wild Caves with a ranger, and hiking to the 70-foot spring-fed Gorman Falls waterfall. In addition to the hike to the waterfall, there are over 35 miles of hiking trails to explore. Campsites, both drive-up, walk-in, and primitive hike-in, have no hookups so this park makes for a very peaceful camping spot. Over 155 species of birding have been observed in the park, including the golden-cheeked warbler, black-capped vireo and bald eagle. Entrance Fees - Adult: $5 Daily - Child 12 Years and Under: Free Reservations are available [online] (https://texasstateparks.reserveamerica.com/colorado-bend-state-park/r/facilityDetails.do?contractCode=TX&parkId=1200055&_ga=2.26755197.1505092049.1617645325-917412064.1616861417) or by calling (512) 389-8900
