Numa Lookout Trail Details
This steep hike takes you to a lookout tower situated at almost 7,000 feet and gives you sweeping views of the area. The trailhead is located on the north end of the main beach at Bowman Lake past the parking area. You'll follow the Bowman Lake Trail. You start out along the shore of Bowman Lake before heading up 3,000-feet to the lookout tower. Make sure to bring water: there isn't any along the trail, and don't attempt this hike unless you are in good physical health. The trail climbs about 3,000-vertical-feet in 5 miles. Bring a lunch, you'll want to enjoy the view after the steep hike up. You'll be able to spot Bowman Lake where you started 3,000-feet below you. Remember, Glacier is grizzly country. Carry bear spray, make noise and travel in groups. The trailhead is at Bowman Lake Campground.
