Bowman Lake Head Trail Details

The trek to the Bowman Lake Head will take you along the entire north shore of Bowman Lake. With only a few rolling hills and mild elevation gain to test your backpacking stamina, this hike is considered a warm-up for the more strenuous trails in the park. While hiking, you can see the rugged outlines of Square Peak, Rainbow Peak, and Mount Carter to the south of the lake. The Bowman Lake Head Campground is a popular destination for kayakers and campers coming from the Goat Haunt and Kintla Lake areas of Glacier National Park. Campers staying overnight are blessed with great proximity to the lake, and occasional glimpses of White-tailed Deer that have settled in the area. Trailhead: Bowman Lake Ranger Station
