Akokala Lake Trail Details
Akokala Lake is a low-elevation lake surrounded by big mountains. The hike to Akokala takes you through forests and valleys before you reach the lake. Marvel at the mountain giants surrounding the lake: Reuter Peak, Mount Peabody and Kintla Peak, to name a few. These peaks are rarely visited and seen, so kick back and enjoy the view. It's a special vista not everyone in the park gets to see, especially during a single-day adventure. Remember, Glacier is grizzly country. Carry bear spray, make noise and travel in groups. The trailhead is at Bowman Lake Campground.
