Lady Bug Trail Details
The Lady Bug Trail begins at the end of the South Fork Road, on the east end of South Fork Campground. You’ll head east on this moderately challenging trail, following the the north side of the canyon of the South Fork of the Kaweah River. The trail starts to climb at about .5-mile in, at the base of Bone Hill, and from the crest of the hill there’s a nice viewpoint. About 1.5 miles in, you’ll come enter a black oak forest, and a little further on brings you to Ladybug Camp. After the camp, you can expect a few more good views down the canyon of Garfield Creek flowing into the South Fork, Homers Nose, and Salt Creek Ridge. The trail passes a waterfall at a little less than four miles, and ends at a dead end one mile past Whiskeylog Camp, making for a five mile (one-way) journey.
