Quechee State Park Details
Home to the spectacular Quechee Gorge, this state park is one of the most visited tourist attractions in the state. Vermonts deepest gorge is carved by the mighty Outtauquechee River, which gushes through the crevice of the 165-foot cliffs. Before this area became a state park, it was a woolen mill used for making shoddy. The mill operated from 1869 until it relocated to New Hampshire in 1952. If you stay at the campsite in the park, you will be sleeping on the same ground that was used for the mills recreation area, although not much from that time has survived over the last few decades.
