This well-preserved two-story home in Hartford is a stunning example of 18th-century transitional Federal-style architecture. It was built in 1786 for William Burtch, a businessman, and farmer who was one of Hartfords original settlers. However, it is more associated with its second owner Theron Boyd, who bought the home in the 1920s. The home sits on a 30-acre property surrounded by farm fields and forests. It is currently in the process of being renovated by the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation, although special tours are given periodically.
