As the name would suggest, the bald peak provides for unobstructed viewing, and, being the fifth tallest elevation on the east coast, the Bald Mountain Trail is often bustling with hikers. A moderate 2.4-mile out-and-back hike, the 1,280-foot elevation not only provides for beautiful outlooks but also creates a uniquely rare subalpine ecosystem. Signs along the approximate mile and a half of trails give visitors an insight into the rare habitat and species that grow there.
