Mount Megunticook Details
A 3.8-mile moderate out-and-back hike. Mount Megunticook is Camden State Park's most sought after viewing point. Rising sharply at 1,000 feet of elevation, the hike is moderately strenuous but offers sights of the busy Penobscot Bay, and views stretching as far as Monhegan Island and the distant Mount Washington. As the second tallest mountain along the coast, visitors will be surrounded by trees until they reach the trail destinations. Be sure to plan on finishing the hike though as the end views are worth it.
