Ragged Mountain Details
A 5.4-mile moderate out-and-back hike. Ragged Mountain lives up to its name with steep and jagged granite cliffs rising 1200 feet up its sides. If brave enough to climb the trail, the views from the top are sweeping. Towering over the Georges River watershed, the White Mountains and Mount Washington can be seen in one direction, and Penobscot Bay and its many perfect islands on the other. The way up provides visitors with fields of wildflowers, and the top offers a barren landscape, perfect for those wild blueberry pickers to forage.
