Museum of the Park Ranger Details

This unique museum is housed in an old soldier station dating back to 1908. The building, which was once used for soldiers on patrol, has been rebuilt according to the original floor plane with many original materials. Interior exhibits illustrate the history and development of the role of the park ranger since the birth of the park system. The museum is staffed by retired National Park Service employees, including retired superintendents, chief rangers, and regional directors.
