Mowich Lake Campground Details
The campground at Mowich Lake, accessed via a bumpy, six-mile, unpaved road (State Route 165), has 10 walk-in sites for tents only, and three group sites that can accommodate 12 people max. This primitive campground on the northwest side of the park has no running water (bring your own drinking water) and no fire grates (fires are banned here), but the lovely lake is a good place to cool off on a hot day. Located at 4,929 feet, the campground typically doesn't open until late July, but stays open through late October, depending on the weather and road conditions. Stay for free, but self-register at the campground kiosk. Site are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The campground has vault toilets and picnic tables. Keep in mind that no pets are allowed, since this is a walk-in campground.
