This section of the Appalachian/Long Trail is a worthwhile jaunt through wooded forests up towards the summit of this beautiful mountaintop. You navigate large boulders and make a few creek crossings as you travel along this 2.4-mile route to the peak. The views here are incredible, as you will see for what feels like miles over the Manchester Valley and Taconic Mountains. Continue another 1/2 mile past the top, and you will come to the Spruce Peak Shelter, a spacious lean-to for overnight hikers.
