Chesler Park Details

Considered by many to be the premier backpacking destination within Canyonlands, Chesler Park is an 11-mile loop in the Needles District. With no water and a primitive trail, this is a hike for experienced desert explorers. The level loop winds through grassy fields and whimsical candy-striped stone structures. The trail is in good condition but the frequent intersections with other trails can be confusing so don't forget your map and compass! As with any overnight trip in the park, permits are required. Check with the rangers for road and trail conditions and allow yourself extra time to drive the long road into the Needles District.
