Located in the Apache Highlands, this park is a tranquil oasis for numerous mammals, birds, and reptiles. It covers part of the Sonoran and Chihuahuan Deserts as well as sections of the Rocky Mountains and the Sierra Madre, which provides a diverse landscape that flourishes with unique wildlife. As such, you will find over 170 types of birds within this compact 280-acre nature preserve. The park is also considered the "hummingbird capital of the United States," with 14 different hummingbirds living within the area. The park is open year-round, although the best months for birding are in spring and summer.
