Tyler State Park Details
Encompassing almost 1,000 acres of Smith County in eastern Texas is this peaceful park. During your visit, you can go boating on the 64-acre lake, wander through 100-foot tall wooded forests, or go wildlife spotting for deers, squirrels, and raccoons. The park was mostly built by the Civilian Conservation Corp in the late 1930s. They also designed a bathhouse, concession building, a boathouse, and a dance hall - all of which are still located on the property today. However, many of the campsites and newer facilities were completed by the state in 1975. One of the must-see attractions in the park is the Whispering Pines Trail. This ¾ mile path takes you through wading pools, pine forests, babbling creeks, and even small waterfalls. Entrance Fees - Adult: $6 Daily - Child 12 Years and Under: Free Reservations are available [online] (https://texasstateparks.reserveamerica.com/camping/tyler-state-park/r/facilityDetails.do?contractCode=TX&parkId=1200125&_ga=2.261438472.447085507.1618845916-917412064.1616861417) or by calling (512) 389-8900
