Inks Lake State Park Details

An oasis of plants and wildlife, this scenic state park is one of the most stunning places to visit in Burnet County. Covering over 1,200 acres, its hills and grounds are covered in a variety of flora, including cedar and oak trees, prickly pear cacti, and yucca plants. With close proximity to Ink Laks and the Colorado River, the state wanted to build a park in the area to preserve the land. Construction started in 1932 by the Civilian Conservation Corps and was completed in 1952 by the State Parks Board. Nowadays, visitors are able to participate in both land and water-based activities. They can spend the day boating, swimming, or sunbathing by the water or trek inland to take advantage of the 9 miles of hiking and walking trails. Entrance Fees - Adult (Day Use): $6 Daily - Child 12 Years and Under: Free Reservations are available [online] (https://texasstateparks.reserveamerica.com/inks-lake-state-park/r/facilityDetails.do?contractCode=TX&parkId=1200062&_ga=2.202847380.447085507.1618845916-917412064.1616861417) or by calling (512) 389-8900
