It is popular for camping and cycling, although most people visit for the scenic hiking trail that loops around the park. This main trail is a little over 5 miles long and allows you to see up close one of the most spectacular flowers ever to grow in Texas soil the bluebonnet. You might have seen their vibrant colors and bonnet-shaped petals around town, considering it is the official state flower of the state. It is best hiked during bluebonnet season, which runs for just a few weeks from the end of March until the middle of April.
