Franzee to Station Road (Towpath Trail) Details
This section of the Towpath Trail is by far the most removed from roads and towns, and contains the "Eden of Cuyahoga Valley": the Piney Narrows. Aptly named, the Narrows is the narrowest part of the valley, and although the white pines that is were named after have been replaced by Eastern hemlocks, this shady, cool area enclosed by tall cliff faces retains its appeal. Here, the trail runs parallel to the Cuyahoga, and there have been numerous spottings of herons, turtles, red-winged blackbirds, and the rare eagle reported in the area.
