Saint Mary Visitor Center Details

The park's largest visitor center sits at the St. Mary side of Glacier National Park. Here you'll find a huge relief map showing the park's peaks, valleys and streams. Exhibits include information on the area's original inhabitants, the Blackfeet, Salish, Kootenai and Pend d'Orielle tribes. You can buy books and maps, as well as backcountry camping permits. Rangers host evening presentations during the summer months and are available to help you plan your trip. Even if you already have an agenda, you should stop at the visitor's center to take in the view of 10-mile-long St. Mary Lake from the large windows.
