Red Eagle Lake offers a great taste of Glacier National Park, taking you through scenic meadows and old-growth forest before arriving at a beautiful alpine lake surrounded by towering mountains. Often in the summer the meadows are full of wildflowers and the forests full of berry bushes –- so watch out for bears. The hike includes crossing Red Eagle Creek via suspension bridge. The clear lake is surrounded by massive mountains. Bears are known to frequent this area so make sure you carry bear spray, make noise and travel in a group. Access is via the St. Mary Trailhead.
