Beaver Pond Loop Trail Details
While the scenery isn't as stunning as some of the other hikes you'll find in Glacier, the Beaver Pond Loop takes you by a historic ranger station built in 1913. The hike is relatively flat, and although you won't see beavers at the pond, you might spot a variety of waterfowl. Most people hike this loop clockwise. The terrain is a little easier, and the views of the mountains are better. Remember, Glacier is grizzly country. Carry bear spray, make noise and travel in groups. Access is via the Red Eagle Trailhead, near the historic ranger station at St. Mary.
