St. Sauveur Mountain Details
Located on the west side of Mt. Desert Island and accessible via the St. Sauveur Mountain Trail, this 679-foot mountain was called "Dog Mountain" prior to its addition to the Park. It doesn't offer much of a view, even from its summit, as it is fairly flat, but the hike is not too strenuous. Just east of the summit is Eagle Cliff, a sheer rock face that rises 500 feet from Valley Cove and here you'll find good view of Somes Sound, the only fjord on the east coast.
