Mississippi Palisades State Park Details

Established in 1972 and located in Carroll County, Illinois, just north of the town of Savanna Mississippi Palisades State Park is situated on 2,500 acres highlighted by large, stunning cliffs along the Mississippi River and an assortment of caves. A number of trails are in place for hikers, and 241 Class A and B camping sites are located in the park. Catfish, carp, and the occasional bluegill draw in many fishermen, while hunters gather for deer season. Picnicking and rock climbing are also allowed in specified areas, as well as a limited assortment of winter sports.
