Prophetstown State Park is small at 53 acres but is ideal to spend a full day immersed in nature. The wooded area is located on the south bank of Rock River. In the wetlands and the maple, cottonwood, oak, and locust trees lives muskrats, deer, ducks, and other woodland critters. Visitors can picnic, use one of six horseshoe pits, fish for species like catfish and carp, walk the 1/3 mile nature trail, or camp in a tent or trailer.
