Once you step foot inside this magical forest of 1,000-year-old cypress trees, you will be amazed that someplace this beautiful actually exists. Their 40-foot wide “buttress” bases shoot out of the swampy forest floor, a sight that pales in comparison to the towering trunks treetops that hangover you. This area is also home to a variety of wildlife, including over 100 different types of endangered plants and animal species. There are also several hiking trails (most of them are along a wooden boardwalk) that wind through the park where you can see the animals, tupelo swamps, and massive cypress trees.
