Panola Mountain State Park Details
Panola Mountain State Park offers a uniquely preserved ecological area around an urban metropolis. The 100-acre stone peak of Panola Mountain, also known as a monadnock, is 946 feet above sea level and is part of the Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area. This makes the park part of one of three of Georgia's National Heritage Areas and is kept in natural condition by only offering guided hikes through certain parts of the park. Other visitors to the area are free to use the designated paved walking paths or fitness trails for activities such as biking, dog walking, and jogging. Besides the usual exercises, visitors can also take advantage of the many programs the park has to offer from orienteering to geocaching and tree climbing to archery.
