You do not have to stray far from the city to find one of Georgias best birding locations. This land is owned by the Clayton County Water Authority and features several small ponds that are home to both shorebirds and waterfowl. You can also make a visit to the Melvin L. Newman Wetlands Center for a guided tour of the wetlands. If you are lucky, you might just see a few warblers or sparrows hovering through the marshes.
