With an elevation of over 12,000-feet above sea level, this sparkling alpine lake requires a bit of hiking to reach. The trek up the Spruce Creek Trailhead is roughly 3.5-miles, although the stunning scenery of wooded pine forests and granite waterfalls makes it worth every step. And that is in addition to the beautiful lake at the top! Keep in mind that this lake can be extremely chilly, even in the middle of summer. But if you have worked up a sweat from the hike then you will love going for a dip in the icy waters to cool off.
