To see the best of what Colorado offers in just under 3 hours, take this 80-mile scenic route from Aspen. You will drive past Mount Massive and Mount Elbert (two of the tallest peaks in Colorado) before winding along the Arkansas River towards the north. Then you will read Leadville, the highest community in the United States. From 10,200-feet above sea level, you will be wowed by the panoramic mountains and valleys. The road forks here, and you will need to decide whether to drive to Minturn Mountain to the west or Copper Mountain to the East. The Minturn route passes the Continental Divide and Lovers Leap while the road to Copper Mountain passes the breathtaking peaks of Democrat, Lincoln, and Quandary.
