This short but historic 24-mile byway has seen its fair share of action of the past century. Not only was it used by miners hauling goods and products from Georgetown to Grant, but it was also the chosen region for many international settlers. The preserved Victorian towns of Georgetown and Silver Plume are picturesque reminders of how wealthy and prominent this area use to be. It is easy to see why this was such a desirable place to live. The wooded forests of spruce and firs, the babbling streams meandering through the pastures, and the fields of wildflowers blanketing the land are as beautiful as it is peaceful.
