This 800-acre former homestead became a state park to protect open space for a diverse range of wildlife like deer, elk, foxes and golden eagles. With 20 miles of trails in the park, hikers and bikers can enjoy many serene ecosystems. Visitors are asked to keep horses and dogs at home, as many birds nest in the area. Nature hikes are available from the visitor center in the summer and spring months, and occasionally in the cold months. Day-use picnic areas are available, as well as designated areas for full hookup and walk-in camping sites.
