Inspiration Point Details
Though short, the trail to Inspiration Point offers views of many of the most prominent features in Lassen. From the 7,200 foot lookout, hikers will enjoy panoramic views to the north, south, and west. Start at the Juniper Lake Ranger Station and head east on the dirt road towards the Inspiration Point trailhead. The trail begins on the left. You'll climb about 440 feet in .6 miles -- it's a steady and gradual hike. At the top, keep an eye out for Mt. Harkness, Saddle Mountain, and Pilot Mountain to the south. Snag Lake, Mount Hoffman, and Crater Butte are to the north. To the west, you can see Lassen Peak, Brokeoff Mountain, and Chaos Crags.
