Horseshoe Lake Trail Details

This short but sweet trail starts at one lake and ends at another. The 2.8-mile out-and-back trail takes you through the woods towards Horseshoe Lake, a peaceful and serene place to have lunch or to linger for part of the day. The trail to the lake is wide, so you can walk side-by-side and pretty much guarantee you won't stray off trail. The trail climbs a negligible 200 feet or so before reaching the lake. Like the other lakes in the area, Horseshoe turns a magnificent deep blue/green in the summertime, making it a great place to enjoy Lassen at its finest. Start at the end of the dirt road at Juniper Lake and continue on to the lake. The dirt road continues on through the woods as a wide, well maintained double-track trail. Take this trail 1.4 miles to reach Horseshoe Lake.
