Sonoma State Historic Park Details
When this state park was founded in 1909, it only featured one site the 21st Mission San Francisco Solano. However, it has since expanded to include sites to honor Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo, one of the most influential figures in shaping present-day California. The Sonoma Barracks, the Blue Wing Inn, La Casa Grande, Lachryma Montis, and the Toscano Hotel were all built or acquired under the order of Vallejo. They are now located directly on the main Sonoma Plaza, a historic square surrounded by shops, cafes, and restaurants.
