San Pasqual Battlefield State Historic Park Details

Despite having one of the most spectacular views over the Pasqual Valley, this park has a dark history that should never be forgotten. It was the site of the single bloodiest battle that was fought during the American-Mexican War in 1846. While the park does not commemorate the battle itself, it does honor all who lost their lives on that fateful day. The park is only open on the weekend, although the best time to come is on the first Sunday of December, also known as Battle Day. This festive yet somber celebration includes live entertainment, craft booths, and childrens events.
