If you are looking for a mountain to the summit in San Diego, then check out this 6.4-mile trek just 30 minutes from downtown. You will navigate around granite boulders and steep rock formations with a 2,000-foot gain in elevation over the 3-mile journey. Views from the top of the mountain are outstanding. On a clear day, you will see Palomar Mountain, Lake Poway, and the iconic Potato Chip Rock. It is mostly unshaded, so it is better if you get a head start as early as possible.
