Despite being completely man-made, Lake Perris is a flourishing habitat for some of the countries most elusive creatures. Roadrunners, bobcats, and rattlesnakes seek refuge in the coastal scrub and grassy willows, while more than 100 species of birds (both native and migratory) have also been spotted around the lake. While wildlife watching is one of the key activities in the park, you can also come here for boating, camping, fishing, and rock climbing. The trail that leads around the lake is 9 miles long and is often used by runners, cyclers, or equestrians.
