San Gorgonio Mountain Details
Standing over 11,000-feet above the ground, this mountain is the highest peak in Southern California. Although trekking to its summit is no easy feat (we are talking 17.3-miles of the trailhead with an elevation gain of nearly 6,000-feet), it is a scenic hike that offers rewarding views to those who conquer it. The most popular trail to the top is via Vivian Creek, although more adventurous backpackers can use the South Fork Trail instead. While it can be done in a day, it is best divided over the course of two days (there is a campground on the way).
