Jack London State Historic Park Details

Before it was a park, this ranch was the home of Jack London, one of Americas most famous journalists, from 1905 until he died in 1916. Unfortunately, the home (referred to as the Wolf House) burned down to the ground in 1913, forcing London to go into great debt to afford to continue running the ranch. His late wife rebuilt the house and lived there until she died in 1955. During your visit to this 800-acre property, you will be able to see the ruins of the Wolf House, the reconstructed House of Happy Walls, and the graves of both London and his wife. There is also a smaller home on the ranch, which overlooks a hilly vineyard.
