Kane Path Details

Kane Path (formally known as the Tarn Trail) gives hikers a better appreciation of what an Acadian mountain pond really is. The Tarn, a glacial pond situated in a shallow gorge between Dorr Mountain and Huguenot Head, is surrounded by meadows, beaver ponds, and granite boulder fields that are great accompaniments to an already beautiful path. The trail is said to be "in memory of John Innes Kane, a man of kindness who found his happiness in giving others pleasure." Start at the north end of the Tarn and through the bottom of a boulder field and around the pond for links to the Sieur de Monts Spring area and connections with the Ladder Trail and Canon Brook.
