Howe Brook Trail Details
The Howe Brook Trail is a beautiful valley trail between North Traveler Mountain and Center Ridge, with inviting pools and many waterfalls ranging from a few feet to 20 feet in height. You can choose to hike the whole 6-mile round trip to the upper end of the trail or make any of the lower pools and falls your destination. The hike begins in the eastern corner of the campground on the Pogy Notch Trail. At one mile, near the shore of the Lower South Brand Pond, the Howe Brook Trail veers to the east. You can also shorten the hike 1 3/4 miles by canoeing or kayaking from the campground. For those hearty of soul and spirit, experience an invigorating dip in the natural potholes created by years of grinding action of pebbles carried by the circular currents. This is a lovely spot to take a deep relaxing breath and enjoy a picnic.
