The Traveler Details
The complete loop utilizes three other trails - Pogy Notch Trail, Center Ridge Trail, and the North Traveler Trail - and is 10 miles. At Peak of the Ridges (the terminus of the Center Ridge Trail), the trail descends eastward before reaching an alpine meadow. On the other side of the meadow an ascent along a talus slope, with difficult footing, brings hikers to the summit of The Traveler. The steep descent, along the northeast to an open ridge, continues another 800 feet before reaching a forest and the ascent towards North Traveler. After summiting on the ridge, descend another 400 feet before the final 600 foot climb up the south east side of the Northern Traveler. The trail ends at the summit, and hikers can take the North Traveler Trail to descend into the South Branch valley.
