Malibu Creek State Park Details

Tucked away in the Santa Monica Mountains just a stones throw outside of downtown Los Angeles sits this protected 8,215-acre state park. Visitors can not wander along a 15-mile trail that parallels Malibu Creek through sycamore forests and rock gorges. Multiple stops on the way provide sweeping views of the Malibu Canyon and Las Virgenes Valley, as well as the surrounding Miocene volcanic fields. There are also three nature preserves in the park Kaslow, Liberty Canyon, and Udell Gorge. The largest and most popular site is Kaslow, which protects almost 2,000-acres of habitat for golden eagles, raptors, and mountain lions.
