This 121-acre state park is situated right where the city beach begins and travels south along the coast to the Talbert Channel and the Santa Ana River. This bustling beach is a haven for surfers and is considered by many to be one of the best surfing destinations in California. Swimming is allowed, although it is best to stay near the lifeguard towers due to the strong currents. The park also is great for birdwatching, fishing, or simply hanging out with friends and family. You can also walk or cycle along the paved walkway that extends the length of the beach.
