Jamaica State Park Details

Centered around the mighty West River, this 772-acre state park has tons of water-based activities for visitors during the summer. You can wade in the river, swim in the blue pools of a waterfall, or even go white water rafting down the twisting rapids. Hikers also have a fair share of trails to choose from, although the West River Trail is one of the most scenics. It was constructed along the lines of an old railroad that operated from 1879 to 1927 and takes you along the river towards Ball Mountain Dam. Another popular trail leads to Hamilton Falls, which plummets 50-feet down into a deep, blue pool.
