To see Vermont's tallest waterfall, you will need to make the nearly 3-mile one-way journey through the Hamilton Falls Natural Area. It is not an overly difficult hike, although the flat first 2-miles are followed up by a steep 1-mile hike towards the falls themselves. But take your time, and you will see that it is manageable for families, kids, and inexperienced hikers. Once you reach the falls, you will see the 125-foot drop zig-zagging its way through the sharp rock ledges into a wading pool. The base is great for swimming, although it is important to avoid going into the pothole at the top of the waterfall.
