Tuckup Trail Details
The longest trail in the Grand Canyon, this remote trail travels along the North Rim from Toroweap Point to 150 Mile Canyon. In true backcountry style, this cairned trail is not maintained, and requires a good deal of bushwhacking and scrambling over rock falls. Known for the many gorges and valleys that it traverses, the trail experiences a good deal of elevation change and often crosses vast, exposed stretches of slickrock. Once a cattle trail used by Colorado cowboys, this trail has a number of reliable springs that make convenient water sources. The Colorado River is accessible from the 150 Mile Canyon, however, it requires experience in canyoneering.
