Olberholtzer Trail Details

This easy 1.7-mile (one way) trail leads from the Rainy Lake Visitor Center to two scenic waypoints with views of nearby lakes and wetlands. The hikr give visitors a sense of the diverse types of ecosystems present in the park, from bogs and lakes to boreal and coniferous forests. The first quarter mile of the trail is accessible to people with wheelchairs, after which it ducks into the forest and becomes narrower and rocky. The trail splits, and there are options to hike to each scenic overlook (each overlook trail of the split is between one and two miles). There are benches at each overlook. In the winter, this trail is also used for snowshoeing.
